Ayodhya: The vibrant Ramleela staged at Ramkatha Park, featuring film actors, has achieved a phenomenal online viewership record this year. Blending tradition with technology, the live-streamed performance attracted 51 crore viewers worldwide in just three days.
The Ramleela was broadcast live on Doordarshan as well as multiple online platforms, reaching audiences in 40 countries and being available in 26 languages. The stellar performances by film artists captivated viewers, making the ancient epic of Ramayana accessible and engaging for audiences across the globe.
Subhash Malik, President of the Filmi Ramleela Committee, shared that the tradition of film-actor Ramleela in Ayodhya began in 2020. The annual online broadcasts have seen steadily increasing audiences, with last year’s viewership reaching 410 million. This year, the three-day event surpassed last year’s record, underlining the growing global appeal of Ramleela in the digital era.

The unprecedented viewership demonstrates how cultural heritage, when combined with modern technology, can reach and resonate with audiences worldwide, making Ramleela a truly global phenomenon.
